The Weighbridge Inn"The pastry is both crusty and crumbly, the meat is moist and  plentiful and the cauliflower rounds off a true triumph."
As reviewed in West Country Life

Now the murky nights and misty mornings are well and truly upon us, I would certainly warm to life in a less-demanding part of the globe. But glorious autumnal glades with their piles of fallen leaves, firework nights with mulled win like rocket fuel and the inevitable hunt for hats and scarves before a bracing walk cannot be replace by a Christmas barbecue on the beach. So I, for one, am staying.

Excellence at the 2-in-1 pub
MARKS OUT OF FIVE

IF YOU go to The Weighbridge Inn on the Nailsworth to Avening Road, don't go expecting nouvelle cuisine or dainty dishes.
The Weighbridge knows its customers and many of them are serious ramblers making use of the network of footpaths and bridleways, crisscrossing the woods and fields surrounding the inn, and they need something substantial in their stomachs.

An upmarket stonebuilt roadside pub just to the east of Nailsworth. Food is the speciality; and this is the home of the famous 2-in-1 pie (Filling of your choice in one side, cauliflower cheese in the other). There is also a sizeable suntrap patio up the stairs at the back.

The most delectable halves of heaven you can find

07 Jul 08, 16:39 Beyond expectations

At first when i arrived outside the Weighbridge Inn i saw a modest country pub, ripe with all the trimmings, then as i entered the door it reignited these thoughts as you contemplate a meal and a pint from the small, modest bar beside a roaring fire, to kindle even those frozen from the british weather. To the left of the bar ona blakc and white chalkboard lies the ten commandments of food and the infamous choices for the two in one pie. The pastry is so fine it melts away in your mouth, half a creamy, cheesy consistancy of cauliflower cheese unlike any other i had sampled before and next to that deivided by a thick pastry divide lies the substance of the pie the meaty or vegitarian filling. My personal favourite being the turkey, cranberry and chipolata filling. Every mothfull good, honest, wholesoom food. the best part being the price tag all this for under £10. If thats not a meal deal i don't know what is!!!

Small pub in Avening in Gloucestershire.......excellent 2 in 1 pies....1 side you can have cauliflower cheese the other side vegetable or steak / or chicken....they are delicious. The pub is lovely and cosy with a nice log fire. Definately worth a visit if you can.

We had a family lunch today at The Weighbridge Inn just outside Nailsworth. I must confess it is over 20 years since I last went in there.

We arrived in beautiful sunshine, but with a freezing wind. As we were going in we had a very heavy snow shower.

The first thing that struck me was the welcoming warmth, and the smell from several cheery log fires. Thankfully it is still an old fasioned English pub. Lots of real ale on sale, and I tried a Uley brew beer. Lovely

We all settled for their famous 2 in one pies and they were delicious. The pub is family friendly and they also allow dogs so long as they are on the lead.

Highly reccomended.
