Bake at Home 2 in 1 piesWhat is a2 in pie?

Over twenty years ago, the 2 in 1 pie was created at The Weighbridge Inn. The recipe has never been made public and to this day remains a closely guarded secret, passed down over the years. It has become a firm favourite with the pub’s guests and is known well beyond the borders of Gloucestershire.

"Made for one ... enough for two!"

The 2 in 1 is served in a large bowl. Half of the bowl contains a meat filling of your choice and the other half is brimming with homemade cauliflower cheese. The chosen filling is topped with freshly made ‘melt in the mouth’ pastry.

All of the fillings are made in The Weighbridge Inn’s own kitchen with locally sourced, fresh ingredients.

Bake at Home 2in1 pie

In 2012, we started producing Bake at Home 2 in 1. Customers can now pop in to the pub during opening hours and pick up either steak and mushroom, chicken ham and leek or roasted root vegetables. They cook in 45 mins and cost £9.50 including an authentic Weighbridge pie bowl! Our Bake at Home 2 in 1 is now available in Brussels to cater for all those who miss a traditional, hearty pie!

Bake at Home cooking instructions

Welcome to the Bake at Home 2 in 1! We hope you enjoy your hand-made pie.

Cooking Instructions:

Please follow the instructions below to ensure a perfect result:

1. Pre-heat your oven to 200 degrees Celsius (fan assisted) / 220 degrees Celsius (fan unassisted) or gas mark 7.

2. Remove pie carefully from all packaging – the pastry is delicate!

3. Add more cheese to the cauliflower if you wish before placing on a baking tray.

4. Cover the pie with tin foil and place in the centre of the pre-heated oven. After 20 minutes discard the foil and egg-wash the pastry (yolk only is the best option). Place the pie back in the oven for a further 25 minutes. Before serving, check the food is piping hot through to the core.

5. Serve and enjoy! (Preferably with a pint of Uley ‘Old Spot’ bitter.)

Storage

Keep refrigerated before use or freeze on day of purchase. Ensure the pie is fully defrosted before cooking.
