Sending flowers might seem like quite a simple thing to do, but there is quite a range in the kind of flowers available and the prices that go with them. A bouquet, for example, is made up of flowers that have been artistically arranged as opposed to a bunch of flowers which is just that, a bunch of flowers! Bouquets, naturally, are more expensive that simple bunches.

And there are a number of ways to choose. There is colour, smell and types of flowers for starters. Tesco even do a fairtrade bouquet.  Websites try to make it as easy as possible so that you can usually browse by price or category, such as romance, new baby, retirement or sympathy.

A bouquet, sometimes called a hand-tied, could be described as a floral arrangement, although perhaps we most associate floral arrangements with sprays, wreaths and posies or even more elaborate arrangements. These tend to be the most expensive.

Some flower sellers make up all their own arrangements and deliver the flowers either by post or courier to all other UK locations. An example of this kind of retailer is www.imogenstone.com. Other internet based flower sellers deliver flowers by relay - that is the order is passed on to a florist local to the delivery area who them makes up the order and organises the delivery. And in the case of websites offering international deliveries, you can buy from a UK site even though the flowers will be made up and delivered in another country.
